GALLAGHER'S LAST DITCH EFFORT: Desperation Strategy = Hate & Shame
First, I apologize for seemingly becoming more of a political marketing blog. I'm not going for that but I guess "tis the season."
I know politicians can easily tick people off, but how many people is Gallagher offending with his new spot? Gallagher is so out-of-touch with this state's voters he's running a hard core bible belt state campaign. This is Florida, not Texas. And voters have made this obvious-- as Gallagher's commercials have become more and more uber right wing, his trail behind rival Crist has widened even further. Latest polls are now showing Crist with a lead of anywhere from 24 to 55 percent.
This may also be telling of the current political climate. As we all know, Florida is a swing state. But in the primaries, you can always depend on the hard-core religious right turn-out to choose a candidate that we all have to live with. It is precisely the reason George Bush was chosen over John McCain in 2000.
I don't really understand Gallagher's "values" campaign strategy, but political beliefs aside, it's obvious that he is unqualified for the job in this state. Perhaps he should stop spending his millions on a futile effort and donate it to a charity or two-- now that's values!
